COMEX 2011 coverage

Going, going, gone?

If you've been to one of Singapore's many annual electronics fairs, you'd be no stranger to the voices of salesmen blaring over large speakers. Such sales tactics aim to create a slightly stressful situation where buyers are presented with a dilemma: Buy it now, or lose out on a good deal for all eternity. Pardon the exaggeration.

While there's nothing wrong with jumping at a good bargain (in fact we heartily recommend it), it's good to do your research before heading down to these shows. After all, some discounts may not be as sweet as they seem. Not sure if you're getting the best deal? Take a look at our COMEX 2011 coverage for some reference prices and our picks for Star Buys.

Also, as a tip, try not to be persuaded by the aggressive--and sometimes overly talkative--salesmen present at the various booths. You should always check out other booths or wait for weekend price cuts to ensure you're getting the biggest savings.
